Joint ambitions for the role of the Danish universities in society

The universities are changing and their place in society is very different now compared to just a few decades ago. This has been the foundation of working out a set of joint ambitions for the sector by the eight Danish universities.

While having different strengths and characteristics the universities all contribute to growth, prosperity and development in Denmark through research, educational programs and cooperation. The contribution of the universities to society is based on their ability to – individually and collectively – create and exchange new knowledge.

The Danish universities has agreed on a set of joint ambitions for their role in society, which has been cast into 4 themes, with each subset of overall targets for the future. The themes are:

• Programs of tomorrow
• New solutions for society
• Bridge to the World
• An enlightened society
